Realizing they need professional help, they call for assistance and find a key in a vent, which they believe belongs to the door behind the antique cupboard. Upon opening the door, they descend into the basement, where they are met with a terrifying sight. Scout barks incessantly in the living room as they explore the depths of the basement, revealing wine barrels, antique furniture, wooden chests, and lots of framed pictures. The couple’s dream home turns into a mystery as they uncover the secrets hidden within its walls.

the family, James and Mandy, are frightened after their dog Scout continues to growl at a wall in their house. They call in professionals the next morning due to their fear of spending another night in the house without finding the cause of the issue. Upon opening the vent, the professionals make a gruesome discovery of jars filled with putrid liquids and several animal carcasses and bones. Mandy wonders if their house was used for rituals and sacrifices, but the maintenance man assures them that it is a common tradition in old Victorian houses in Pennsylvania called “paow,” which involves using animal carcasses for religious and healing purposes. James and Mandy decide to remove the jars and carcasses to eliminate the smell and live a normal life, ensuring Scout’s comfort.
