The throwback picture shows Catherine in her coronation robes and stunning headpiece smiling sweetly at King Charles, who is also wearing his robes and the Imperial State.
Crown Royal fans sent their own well wishes to Kate, with many expressing their deep respect and admiration for her.
Kate is expected to celebrate privately with her husband Prince William, children Prince George, Charlotte, and Lewis, and often set aside a weekend at the start of the year to entertain family and friends.
