Pictures from the “Joker: Folie A Deux” set reveal Lady Gaga’s Harley Quinn costume

Singer-actress Lady Gaga’s outfit and makeup for the upcoming movie “Joker: Folie A Deux” have been shown in new production photos.

The images appear to show a crowded street scene with Gotham police leading Gaga’s persona inside a building housing the government. Around the celebrity, extras in protest garb are seen holding banners that read “Release Joker,” “Justice 4 Joker,” “Joker Marry Me,” and “No Justice Not Guilty Not Joking.” Naturally, there are a few people in the audience wearing clown masks and colorful wigs.

Arianne Phillips, an Oscar nominee for her work on the first “Joker” movie, seamlessly blends the heightened sensibility of the comic book source material with the gnarly look of Gaga’s outfit.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Lady Gaga on the ‘Joker: Folie A Deux’ set.

Director Todd Phillips posted a picture of Gaga and Phoenix sharing a passionate embrace on Valentine’s Day. In contrast to the official photo, which was a close-up, the new images show Gaga’s persona from a different angle.

The first “Joker” from Phillips was a box office success and holds the record for highest-grossing R-rated movie ever. Out of a remarkable 11 nominations, the movie received two wins at the 2020 Academy Awards: Phoenix for best actor and Hildur Guonadottir for best original score. The possibility of a sequel soon gained popularity.
