Today, Governor Greg Abbott urged Texans to celebrate 2023 Small Business Week in Texas and the crucial role that Texas’ 3.1 million small businesses play in our state’s dynamic, thriving economy.
The Governor proclaimed April 30-May 6, 2023, as Small Business Week in Texas in order to honor the contributions and accomplishments of Texas’s small businesses.
According to Governor Abbott, “Small businesses are the backbone of our state’s economy in Texas, and we continue to work to support their growth and economic success to keep Texas the best state in America to start a business.”
“Nearly half of the working-age Texans are employed by our 3.1 million small businesses, which also contribute to Texas’ economic dominance.
We are happy to be top state for jobs created by Hispanic, Black, and veteran women business owners, with 1.25 million female entrepreneurs.
During Small Business Week in Texas, we will continue to support small businesses in local communities across the state to ensure that they have the resources necessary to succeed. Texas thrives when small businesses do well.
