The military leadership of Ukraine chooses to keep defending Bakhmut

Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, has convened a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Staff Chief’s today. The commanders of the Ukrainian army provided updates on the situation in the main frontal directions, including Bakhmut, according to the press office of the Ukrainian President.

In response to Zelensky’s inquiry over the future course of action, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, the head of the Ukrainian military, and Oleksandr Syrskyi, the commander of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, backed up keeping Bakhmut under defense.Participants in the discussion talked about distributing weapons and equipment to different areas of the front while maintaining steady supplies.

The Head of Intelligence, the Prime Minister, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, high-ranking security officials, as well as commanders of the branches of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and operational directions, were present at the meeting, according to Zelensky’s press service.
