Jason Browning left his son at his home with the then 18-year-old Raymond Frolander one day in July 2014 while he took care of a few errands. A close friend of the family, Frolander lived in the home with Browning at the time. The two often spent time alone together. When Browning returned, he caught Frolander raping his son.
Dad Bloodies Frolander
Browning flew into a rage and began bea*ting Frolander, stopping the attack only when the man fell unconscious and his son pleaded with him to stop. He regained his senses, dragged Frolander’s body across the house and called 9–1–1, telling the dispatcher, “Bring an ambulance. You’re going to need one.” He continued, “I got him in a bloody puddle for you officer. He is knocked out on the floor for you.”
During the call, Browning can be heard telling Frolander, “You are damn lucky, boy, that I love my God.”
Boy Talks To Police
The 11-year-old boy told investigators that when his father left, Frolander forced him to sit on his lap. He then took him to the back of the apartment, removed his clothing, and began se*xually assaulting him. He told authorities the man performed oral s*ex on him and forced him to touch his genitals.
The young man told investigators that Frolander began ab*using him three years ago when he was 8 years old.
Police did not charge Browning with a crime in the incident.
“Dad was acting like a dad. I don’t see anything we should charge him with,” Daytona Beach Police Chief Mike Chitwood told the Ocala Post. “When you’re 8 years old, you’re supposed to be out running around the street riding your bike, playing ball, playing video games. Not worrying when a 15, 16, 17, 18-year-old comes near you. You know what’s going to happen when he comes near you and touches you. You know what’s going to happen when you’re alone with him.”
He continued: “The father walked in and found his son being s*exually ab*used in his own home … the father did what the father had to do.”
After Frolander’s mugshot went viral, Browning spoke to reporters.
Browning told them that he was also molested as a child.
As a close family friend, Browning said he trusted Frolander. It was not uncommon for him to be alone with his son. He said they played video games together quite often. He continued, “And now I have to wonder why the door was always shut,” he told ClickOrlando.
25-Years In Prison
In April 2015, Frolander pleaded no contest to lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim under 12. He faced up to life in prison if he did not accept the plea deal and had been found guilty.
Circuit Judge Leah Case handed the pervert a 25-year sentence. Upon his release, Frolander must register as a se*x offender for the remainder of his life.
He has a prospective release date of November 28, 2037. Frolander will still be a young 43 years old when he is released in 25 years -if he serves the entire sentence.
Outside of the courthouse, a still understandably upset Browning told reporters,
“He’s going to learn in the next 25 years why I let him live,” the father said. “Now I can’t afford to replace y’all’s cameras so move.”
