Outside of the Russian embassy in London, the asphalt has been painted with a big Ukraine flag. The flag first appeared the day before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine marked its year anniversary.
The protest organization Led By Donkeys seems to have claimed ownership of the flag. “Tomorrow is the first anniversary of Putin’s imperialist invasion of Ukraine, an independent state and a people with every right to self-determination,” the organization wrote with a photo it posted on Twitter. He will be reminded of that by the presence of a sizable Ukrainian flag outside his embassy in London.Led By Donkeys have a history of engaging in political pranks. One of the group members held a banner that stated “please drive slowly” and “Ukrainian solidarity demonstration” as the flag was being painted.
Following the incident, the police have detained four persons. According to a Metropolitan Police spokesperson, officers arrived at Kensington Palace Gardens at 8:45 this morning to find paint that had been thrown onto the road.
