Google Unveils a Video of Its Revolutionary New Phone That Could Transform the Market

It appears that Google (GOOGL – Get Free Report) will formally enter the foldable smartphone market.

The tech giant unveiled an 8-second teaser video for the Pixel Fold, its first foldable phone, which will be unveiled on May 10 at Google I/O.

The Pixel Fold does seem to have the same overall design language as its non-folding counterpart, sans the folding. The phone folds inward similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series, which together with the Galaxy Z Flip, has dominated the foldable smartphone market.

But Google’s entry adds another major player to the foldable market, especially as the tech company has invested more into its smartphone hardware division since the release of the Pixel 6 in October 2021.

The Pixel Fold is expected to start at over $1,700 which would make it the most expensive phone in Google’s lineup, according to a report by CNBC. That would put it around the price range of Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 4 which is at $1,799.
