In a recent turn of events, Prince Andrew’s aspirations of returning to his royal duties have been shattered.
The Duke of York, who had reduced his involvement in public life in 2019, reportedly met with King Charles prior to the Queen’s passing.
It is said that during this meeting, Prince Charles made it clear that Prince Andrew would not be allowed to resume his royal duties.
According to sources, Prince Andrew was left devastated and tearful when his brother, now King Charles, informed him of this decision.
Despite the controversy surrounding his association with Jeffrey Epstein, the Duke of York still believed he could contribute as a working member of the royal family.
However, his hopes were dashed during the emotional and difficult discussions at Bercall estate in Scotland, where only Charles and Andrew were present.
The Mail on Sunday quoted a source close to the situation, stating that Prince Andrew was completely blindsided and felt utterly helpless.
He had always believed that there was a way for him to rejoin the family.
Prior to the Queen’s passing, there were discussions between Andrew and the late monarch regarding a new royal role.
However, these dreams were crushed by Prince Charles, leaving Andrew hoping that the Queen could intervene and persuade her son and grandson, Prince Charles and Prince William, to reconsider.
In 2019, Prince Andrew retired from public service following his disastrous Newsnight interview, in which he addressed his association with convicted s** offender Epstein.
He also lost his HRH style and military positions earlier this year, in addition to paying millions to settle a civil s** assault complaint made against him by Jinya Juffer, an Epstein accuser.
Despite vehemently denying the allegations, Prince Andrew expressed his desire to regain his HRH designation and his position as Colonel of the Grenadier Guards.
The colonelcy of the Grenadier Guards held great significance for him, and he strongly believed that his position as a Prince of the Blood and HRH should be recognized and honored.
This news comes in the wake of reports that Prince Charles and Prince William intervened to prevent Prince Andrew from making a public appearance at the Garter Day service at St. George’s Chapel.
It is one of the most prominent events in the royal calendar, and their intervention further highlights the distance between Andrew and the rest of the royal family.
At present, representatives for the Duke of York have declined to comment on the matter.
As for Prince Andrew’s future, it remains uncertain.
Only time will tell if there is any possibility of a resolution or reconciliation within the royal family.
